The Image Thumbnail Generator runs entirely in your browser. Drop or select an image, pick a target size (or custom), choose whether to keep the aspect ratio, and click Generate. The tool produces thumbnails at 64, 128, 256, and 512 pixels so you can compare, plus your selected size, and lets you download each one individually or all at once. Nothing is uploaded to a server — everything happens locally with JavaScript on your device.
How to use the generator
- Click the drop zone or drop an image file onto it.
- Pick a thumbnail size (or choose Custom and enter a pixel value), toggle aspect-ratio locking, and select an output format.
- Click Generate to render the thumbnails. Each preview shows its dimensions and a download link.
- Click Download All to save every thumbnail, or Clear to start over.
Frequently asked questions
What sizes are generated? The preview always includes 64, 128, 256, and 512 pixel thumbnails so you can compare them side by side, plus your selected size if it differs.
What does "Maintain aspect ratio" do? When checked, the image is resized to fit within the target bounds without stretching. When unchecked, the image is stretched to exactly fill the target square.
What output formats are supported? PNG (lossless, supports transparency), JPEG (smaller, no transparency), and WebP (modern, efficient).
Does this tool upload my images? No. All resizing happens locally in your browser. Your image never leaves your device.
